The event titled “Becoming an Accomplice to a Crime Unintentionally”, organized under the coordination of Çankırı Karatekin Üniversitesi and the Çankırı Cumhuriyet Başsavcılığı, in cooperation with the Çankırı İl Emniyet Müdürlüğü and the Çankırı İl Jandarma Komutanlığı, was held with the strong participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. Mevlüt Karataş, Çankırı Chief Public Prosecutor Huzeyfe Yücedağ, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Serhat Demiral, as well as university staff and students.
The program, held at the University’s Rectorate Conference Hall, addressed situations that may lead individuals to become involved in crime unknowingly, with a particular focus on cybercrime. During the presentations delivered by personnel from the Cybercrime Department of the Çankırı Provincial Police and the Provincial Gendarmerie Command, comprehensive information was provided on types of crimes committed in digital environments, key considerations in social media and internet use, and related legal responsibilities.
In the question-and-answer session, Chief Public Prosecutor Huzeyfe Yücedağ and Public Prosecutor Nurcan Kuş responded to participants’ questions and offered detailed explanations, particularly regarding the risks young people may encounter in digital environments and the potential legal consequences.
The event made a significant contribution to raising public awareness and fostering consciousness toward crime prevention.
